Ribs & Rum
Posted Oct 14, 2016
Ribs, rum and a whole lot of fun are on the menu for the distillery’s Rib Fest on Saturday, October 29th. We all need to get fortified for the long winter ahead and a festive fall evening with cannons, fire, food, friends and overproof rum should have you ready.
The evening will start with a blast as soldiers from Fortress of Louisbourg set off an artillery salute to the King that will shake the neighbourhood. The tasting room fireplace will be blazing and a perfect spot to sample the distillery’s rums and whiskies as well as craft beer from the brewery before dinner.
The DesBarres Manor Inn kitchen will serve up a plate of ribs smothered in their special barbecue sauce and all the fixings at 7:30. ECMA nominated musicians Paul Tynan and Jake Hanlon will also play during the evening. Their record “Autumn Song” was nominated for Jazz Recording of the Year and seems like a fitting soundtrack to celebrate the season.
After dinner, we’ll be taking guests on tours of the still house, brewery and our new packaging facility and answering your questions about our award-winning spirits and craft beer.
Tickets are $25 per person (taxes and drinks not included) and are available at the distillery & brewery at 75 Ferry Lane or by phone at 902-533-3904.
We look forward to rum and ribs with you on the historic Guysborough harbour!
